Food Studies Association – Aotearoa New Zealand (FSAANZ) was founded in 2021 to foster and promote critical, interdisciplinary research and broader understanding of sociocultural studies of food among food researchers, professionals, and practitioners, with particular (but not exclusive) reference to Aotearoa and in line with our commitment to honour and embed Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
FSAANZ seeks to provide a forum for the expression and exchange of ideas on diverse issues relating to food and social, cultural, environmental, and economic challenges within food systems, through regular seminars and an annual conference.
